Biofach was once again the place for rich, inspiring and forward-looking interactions. OPTA Europe organized several activities to showcase the organic industry’s efforts and commitment for an organic future.
Organic reception on 14.02
Organized jointly with Bionederland and AöL, our organic reception gathered around 200 industry players. It was the occasion for innovative and committed organic entrepreneurs to network and inspire each other, in a positive atmosphere.
We also appreciated the firm support and commitment with the organic sector that our speakers, Mrs Nick, Mr Vera and Mr Goldmann demonstrated.
A special thank you to the dream team that worked very hard to make this event happen: Isabell Gerr and Anne Baumann (AöL) and ‘our’ Giulia Vogel. Ladies, you rock!
Panels at Biofach Congress
Our OPTA Europe-OTA joint panel ‘Expanding Transatlantic cooperation in organics‘ brought together high-level speakers from EU and US administrations (Mrs Panichi European Commission and Mrs Jenny Lester Moffit, the Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at USDA).
Industry on both sides of the Atlantic was represented by Tom Chapman, CEO of OTA and Aurora Abad. At the time when the EU-US organic equivalency arrangement is being rediscussed, OTA and OPTA Europe expressed support to this landmark bilateral arrangement which has streamlined trade between the world’s two largest organic markets since 2012.
OPTA Europe-Eurofins joint panel ‘The Origin of Phosphonic Acid in Plant-Based Food and Feed Products – Pesticide Residue or Natural Compound?’ brough together industry’s experts Werner Nader (Eurofins), Maarten Molenaar (Do it organic), Jens Gehl (HiPP) and Bavo van den Idsert (OPTA Europe).
This panel aroused a great interest among the participants to Biofach and testifies to the importance of this topic for companies. Thanks to our panelists for shedding scientific light into it!
